0015. Fuzzy Bitwig
After lmms forgot that I had a midi keyboard every 30 seconds I needed a break from it
(this is probably some weird bug between lmms, firefox + YouTube and PIPEWIRE_LATENCY=256/48000
,
which I did not investigate further so far). Hence I decided to take another quick peak into Bitwig,
the “alternative” to Ableton Live, which also runs on Linux. The demo version doesn’t allow saving or
exporting, but it’s enough for making some tunes. I can record whatever I want with ardour in the end.
Writing notes works quite well (but the controls are confusing as if I had been training to use something else for the past few weeks), they have some okayish built-in VSTs and overall it looks quite nice, though I still have some testing to do for a proper lmms comparison. One thing I find intreaguing is the potential for making some live musik, but I have only diped short into the looping business of Bitwig. Still much to disover.
So, the resulting track of this post was a mixture of a fuzzy bass preset of Vital, Bitwig’s Grand Piano and some built-in drums.
